Leightweigth materials

Lightweight materials is a broad term and refers to materials that contribute to the overall reduction of weight in a structure or product. While low-density materials are often used as lightweight materials, not all lightweight materials are necessarily low-density, and not all low-density materials make any meanigful contribution to lightweight design. In other words, the term lightweight encompasses how the material is used in design, its mechanical properties, and how effectively it reduces the overall weight without compromising performance.
